Another day

Another $1.50. I'm adding cost of living for Alaska.

Can't say I have anything tremendous to tell you about. The morning started as usual. Patients started in around 9:30. That's early for around here. There are more cameras here today. Both the ANG and the AFR have taken pictures and asked questions for public affairs. There may a news story about us yet.

We have to tell the patients we are taking a lunch break. Otherwise we could have worked through lunch and beyond. There is a nice mix of pediatric and adult patients to be seen. A variety of problems that keep us hopping. There is a chance of snow each day that we have left. Doesn't sound like it is bad enough to delay our departure.

I have been checking the aurora forecast on a regular basis. They are able to forecast how visible it will be at your location. The range goes from 0 to 9. 0-1 basically means don't bother. A 2 is decent and anything above a 3 is spectacular. Tomorrow will be a 3! I'm so excited. Folks in command are organizing rides to cemetary hill so we won't have to take a 30 minute hike in the early morning hours. I'm ready. I've been staying up until midnight easily the last couple of days. I know I can do 0130 now. Just hope the forecast is right.

The numbers here in clinic are not overwhelming. In fact it is a much easier pace than back home. They pay lodging, travel plus per hour salary for temporary workers. In a couple of years I could easily see myself doing this. I could like in Alaska half the time and Hawaii the other half. I could be somewhat retired, make a good living and travel.
